LabVIEW Developer Education Day 2009 

This presentation starts from a confrontation the speaker had with FDA validation in a large LabVIEW project and tells about the consequences for project managers, programmers and end-users.

Good programming means correct design, bug free code, easy maintainability and correct data processing. Software engineering models are describing a structural way of working to guarantee this.

Some tools that support this model and thereby facilitate the validation process, are reviewed or demonstrated: FDA guidance for software validation, FDA 21 CFR 11 checklist, NI Requirements gateway, NI Unit test framework, NI VI Analyser, NI Desktop Execution trace, virtual machines and software configuration management.
